Interview with Hitman Da Prince of Grown Man Business (GMB) Entertainment
I: To start off, tell me a little bit about yourself and who you are as an artist.
H: I am Hitman Da Prince, out of Charlotte, NC. Owner of G.M.B. Entertainment. Far from just a rapper, more like an all around businessman. I write and produce music, run an internet radio network and more (laughs).
I: Okay, cool. How long have you been rapping and what inspired you to start?
H: Been rapping since – I don’t know, 2005. I’ve always been into music; before rap I was singing and dancing. My uncle J lee introduced me to this beat program called FL Studio, since then I have been making music. Life inspires me to know the stories I tell in a song touches folks to where they can relate; makes me feel good.
I: You have a new song called “Karma” that you’ve worked on for the film “When Karma calls” by Eli Lu Productions. Explain what the song is about, who produced it and who else is on the track?
H: Karma tells the story of “Karma” as if it were a woman. The beat was made by me. Song was written by me and GMB Artist, Xtsendo Lo, also from Charlotte, NC.
I: How did you get involved with this project and how long have you’ve known Eli and Lu?
H: I know Eli and Lu from College, ECSU, to be exact. I can’t tell you which one is which though (laughs)… They let me know this new project they’ve been working on and showed me a clip and we wrote the song based off that, of course, adding our own swag.
I: So, what’s next for you regarding music?
H: We have a mixtape dropping in August called “Journeys.” You can download online or contact me for a hard copy.
I: How can people contact you or listen to more of your music?
H: Follow us On Instagram @Team_GMB, @HitmanDaPrince, @Xstendo704 , also Facebook Hitman Da Prince and Team GMB.
I: Well, thank you for your time. We appreciate it!
